Nokian lukio
Nokia Senior High School

The roots of Nokian lukio can be traced back to the 1930's when it was a secondary school called Jaakkiman yhteiskoulu located in Karelia (an area now belonging to Russia). In 1940, after the Winter War against the former Soviet Union had broken out, the school was relocated to Nokia. It has been known as Nokian lukio/ Nokia Senior High School since 1976.

Nokian lukio is the sole high school in Nokia. Currently we have approximately 415 students and 30 teachers. The students are aged 16-20. Nokian lukio is a non-graded senior high school, which means that all students have to complete a set number of courses (one course consists of 38 lessons). They can decide for themselves whether they want to complete their studies in three or four years. The school year, August to May, is divided into five periods.

Nokian lukio is a traditional Finnish senior high school laying a special emphasis on international education.
